Hugh Hefner to wed (again)

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, 84, announced this weekend he will be marrying his latest girlfriend, Crystal Harris, 24. Hefner reportedly proposed on Christmas day. The 60 year age difference doesn't seem to bother the happy couple--Hefner gets a new girlfriend and Harris gets the cover of Playboy. What could be more romantic than that?

People on Twitter are (mostly) elated. Perhaps they are more elated Hefner made the announcement via Twitter than they are about the actual nuptials.

Twitter remembers the "Ex-es"

If you are feeling lonely this holiday season, no doubt there is an ex (girlfriend, boy friend, spouse, or significant other) to blame.
That's where Twitter comes in really useful.
People have started posting little messages to their ex-es blaming them for troubles, reminding them of what they are missing and generally just talking trash about them. The best part: most of the recipients of these messages will never read them, making it a less stressful event for the name-caller.

Solstice tomorrow brings out the Tweets

In case you were unaware, Winter Solstice is tomorrow. This year the date also corresponds with a full moon and lunar eclipse. Depending on whom you ask this particular confluence of astronomical events with the shortest day of the year hasn't happened fore more than 400 years.
More than 1.5 billion people will be able to view the lunar eclipse and with today's global army of digital image gatherers, we will no doubt have plenty of cool photos to look at tomorrow....

Blaked Edwards dies, Twitter mourns

Twitter users are showing their age today as they mourn the passing of director Blake Edwards.
Sure, Edwards was a great director famous for such classics as The Pink Panther (the original movies, not the Steve Martin fakes), Breakfast at Tiffany's, Days of Wine and Roses and Operation Petticoat, but he hasn't had a bonafide hit in 20 years.
Anyway, it certainly is a sad passing nonetheless. After all, Edwards was the man who convinced Julie Andrews to take off her shirt in S.O.B.

Obama Health Care Plan Ruled Unconsitutional

Now that one court has determined the White House health care plan is unconstitutional, you can expect one thing: More law suits will soon follow.

A lower court ruling is one thing, but no doubt this issue will eventually make its way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The nine justice panel will need to flip the final coin on whether it is Constitutional for the federal government to require citizens to buy health insurance or pay a fine.

And until that day comes Twitter will be awash with folks wading in to the battle. (I can't help wondering how many of these people are insured themselves?)
