#savethepeak or save the Hollywood sign

Save the Hollywood sign. Well, #savethepeak. That's the latest trend on Twitter as the Trust for Public Land rushes to raise $12.5 million by April 14 to save the iconic image.

The group so far has raised $9.5 million. If they fail to raise the remaining money the sign will be removed by a Chicago-based developer intent on adding four luxurious mansions to the site.
