Wireless electricity just around the corner

CNN is reporting on the latest announcement that wireless electricity is coming soon. Of course, people have been promising to make power cords obsolete since the 19th century.

Electronics such as phones and laptops may start shedding their power cords within a year. Wireless electricity may soon make tangled power cords a thing of the past.

That's the prediction of Eric Giler, CEO of WiTricity, a company that's able to power light bulbs using wireless electricity that travels several feet from a power socket.

If this happens, just about any hand-held electronic device and even electric cars could become completely cordless and batteries could become a thing of the past.
