Widely known as the inventor of such things as the phonograph and the light bulb, Thomas Edison was also staunch self-promoter not above electricuting local pets to prove his way was the best way when it came to transmitting power. Of course, the fact his way (Direct Current) was NOT the best way (we currently all use Alternating Current which is much, much safer) has done little to diminish the legend of his genius....
