Original Bombshell Jane Russel dies

Jane Russel, 89, the star of Gentleman Prefer Blondes with Marilyn Monroe, has died. She was 89.

Russell was the quintessential sex symbol. The most popular sex symbol of the 1940's-1950's. During World War II just about every soldier had a picture of Russell in his foot locker or in his pocket. And for good reason. She was tall, a leggy brunette with smoldering dark eyes and a sultry voice that could melt butter.

She will be missed....unfortunately, many of the posts honoring her on Twitter have been linked to spam websites. Disgraceful....these, however, are real. Like Russell herself.

@blockbuster We're sorry to hear about the passing of Jane Russell. She was a true icon of the golden age of Hollywood.
