A few short weeks ago Ted Williams was living in the bushes along the roadside, panhandling for loose change. Today, thanks to the work of a print news photographer and the power of the Internet, Williams is the new announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Williams is a former radio personality who had fallen on hard times. Using his melodious voice to soothe folks sitting in traffic he hoped to get a little recognition and maybe a job. But even he admits the recent attention (his video on YouTube shot by a passing photographer has received more than 11 million views) far exceeded his wildest dreams.
